University Recordings

Creating opportunities for students with respect to the realities of the commercial music industry is a high priority for Dr. White.

He produced 11 big band albums featuring students with top performers in jazz as guest artists: 6 at MU with the Concert Jazz Band, the flagship ensemble of the program; 5 with the NSU Jazz Ensemble. For each of these programs, producing albums was a new and exciting opportunity for these students.

Each of these CDs feature students as composers, arrangers, and performers alongside industry mavens.

These recordings are critically acclaimed nationally; in fact, one of the recordings at NSU received a Blue Chip Award from Jazz Education Journal, signifying it as one of the top college band CDs of that year.
